The final's weight of your overall course grade.

How this works
We solve need = (target − current × (1 − weight)) ÷ weight. Your current grade already counts for everything except the final, so we work out the only piece left: the score on the final that lands you on target.

How this works
Your grade is the weighted average of each category: Σ(score × weight) ÷ Σweight. Weights don't have to add to 100 — if they don't, we tell you so you can spot a missing piece, and still show your grade across the weight entered so far.

How this works
GPA is the credit-weighted average of your grade points: Σ(points × credits) ÷ Σcredits. Each letter maps to points (A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3 …). Heavier courses pull your GPA more.

Grade calculator FAQ

How do I work out what I need on my final?
Open the Final tab, enter the grade you have going in, the grade you're aiming for, and the percentage of your course the final is worth. Gradely instantly shows the exact score you need — and tells you honestly if it's out of reach with this final alone.
What's a weighted grade?
Most courses split your grade into categories — homework, quizzes, exams — each worth a different percentage. The Weighted tab averages your scores by those weights so you always know your true current grade, not a flat average.
How is GPA calculated?
Each letter grade is worth points (A = 4.0, B = 3.0, and so on), and each course counts in proportion to its credit hours. The GPA tab does the credit-weighted average for you, with optional +/− grades.

No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent to a server. Your entries are remembered on this device only, and the share link encodes your numbers in the URL — handy for sending to a friend, nothing tracked.
